The Word of God (The Bible) teaches us that our tongue is very POWERFUL (Proverbs 18:21) as we can either bring trouble or blessings depending on how we choose to use. Listen we (I Mean you and I) need to understand it is not EVERYTHING we need to speak about this days especially in a negative manner as I have learnt to trust and understand God more
This post speaks to me as well and not just to you, I am constantly seeking wisdom from the Holy Spirit in this area, like I need Him basically every single day. As a mother I am very intentional about how I speak to and with my children, in my home there so many words that is a big no no which we tagged “the bad word (s).
My family knows, speaking negatively to themselves or to others is highly prohibited in our house and I always encourage the use of positive words and or language, for example instead of saying; “I don’t think I can make the basketball team”, better to say ” I think I need to work harder getting into the basketball team”
I have also cautioned few people at work when they speak to themselves negatively saying things like ” ugh Laura you so dumb” just because she made a mistake. Why you ask, well because what we constantly hear sinks into our hearts and before we know it we start to think and feel it and obviously I didn’t want that so I had to encourage those who didn’t know.
I absolutely believe speaking positively into existence (Romans 4:17) helps draw good things to us so please watch your mouth and pray instead and learn to intentionally stay away from negative words and also negative people as that too can bring noting but bad news. One of my favourite books in the Bible is PROVERBS, because it teaches about wisdom in every area but that is a post on its own for another day.
